WOOHOO!

WOOHOO is right! I was able to finish off the stake I received at the beginning of January. My bankroll currently sits at just a touch over $300. Grind time now. I'm realizing I've got some major leaks that need to be plugged before I hit 25nl permanently. Most of these have to do with playing too passive, and too much auto-pilot...which I think go hand in hand much of the time. I'd like to be able to hit 20-30k hands/ month.. but I think right now I'm much better off 2 tabling 10nl and playing much better quality hands, rather than a decent quantity of hands. I'd be much happier putting in 11k hands in a month, where I was focused well for 90% of them, instead of 30k hands, where I focused for 20% of them. So I'm changing my monthly goals for this last 2 months of school to 8-12k hands/month..and 20-25k hands/month over the summer.

With 2 months or so left of class, I think I'll be able to win enough so that I'm starting at 25nl when summer starts, which I think is a good spot to be. imo, if I've been playing 25nl for a week or 2 once summer starts, I think I can be taking 50nl shots by the end of summer. My original goal of being a 100nl regular may be a bit of stretch, but I still think I can at least be taking shots at 100nl by the new year. Who knows though, thats 9 months away still lol.

Ok seriously?  Why the fuck is it that everytime I have an entire day to devote to playing mtts/mtsngs/sngs... I run like complete garbage.  I get to play quite a bit.. but rarely do I get a full day of play.  Maybe once every other month or so, my entire schedule somehow magically clears.. and I have nothing to do but play poker, and I try and take advantage of it, and it always seems like I just get completely shit on when I have that full day of play.  I've lost all but one flip today, every shove I made from lp with a low-ish M I run into either a monster, or a hand that has me dominated.... its just been fucking gross today.  
Ok that is all..move along now.


edit:  Ok, so I took a break for awhile and decided to load up some mtsngs..  took down 2 3.25/45s, took 5th in a 3.25/90.. and 3rd in a 2.2/180 (after KQ gets 3 outted by KJ aipf :(:(:( ah well, today got better imo :)

Oh Mortal Kombat.. the days where I could just press a few buttons, and I could finish off an opponent.  If only poker worked that way sometimes.  It's hard for me to complain at all after the past week I had.. 2 3rd's in 4.40/180s.. 1 2nd in a 2.20/180.. a 4th (I think, I forget) in a 3.25/90.. a 2nd and a 5th in $3 90man ko's.. and a top 30 in a $2 double stack on ftp, but I still feel like I left a ton of money on the table.  I'm very happy with my play in all but one of those runs, which is a very good thing.  I've been working on my attitude a lot while playing.. worrying about things I could have done in a negative manner... or worrying about beats in big pots, is taking away from my focus on the players and the game at hand, and I feel it's helped a lot.  Do I think thinking positively about a single coinflip helps, no..not at all... but the removal of negative though does imo, and it's something I hope to continue.  Spring break is here, so it's grind week to try and make up for lost time this month.  Most of this week will be spent playing cash games... except Wednesday.  The gf has a paper to finish, so she will be pre-occupied, and I have no obligations.. so Wednesday is tourney day.  Hopefully I can stay as cool as Sub-Zero.. and finish him!  Fatality.

Don't really know what to title this :)

12 days into March and it's going...ok.  I'm not on pace yet to put in the volume I wanted too, but the gf has this week off from both school and work, so I haven't played much this week.  My spring break is coming up in a little over a week, so it'll be grind time then :) I still think I can hit the bottom of my goal (15k hands for March)  but 20k might be a reach, but I guess it will depend on how much I play during spring break.  I'm at ~3k hands right now, which isn't too bad I guess.  I'm running nice and hot though (16.20BB/100 at 25nl over 1500 hands and 31.60BB/100 over 1200 hands at 10nl).  For some reason I've been finding myself playing 25nl.  It's not something I think I should be doing, but in my defense I've only been doing it when I was feeling extremely focused.  So judging by my hands played so far, it would appear I've felt really focused for most of the month, which is good.  Right now I've got about 14 buyins for 25nl, so I'm def. not following good brm, but I plan on dropping down if I hit $225 or so, which will still leave me plenty rolled for 10nl. 

I still haven't posted anything in MicroNL on 2+2.  I guess I'm having a hard time figuring out what hands to post. When I look for hands to post, I look them over and realize what my mistakes were and figure there is no need to post.  But that doesn't excuse me from posting more opinions on hands though, so I'm going to work on that.  

In terms of other sites, I still have like $25 on ap, that I'm basically just going to gamble with one night playing mtt's and see if I can pull out a nice score and get that money on ftp/stars.  I had the chip lead in one mtt ($16.50 6max)  with 9 left, but blew up on a bvb hand and went out 9th.  It was kind of disgusting, but I feel my tourney game has been ok lately, and I think I should see some good results soon.  I've got like $22 on ftp that I'm hoping to build into something.  Playing 2nl 6max atm.  I love ftp for their small-ish field mtt's, so I want to build a roll on there for when I feel like playing mtt's. 

Overall on the year, I'm not exactly happy with my results, but I'm not disappointed either.  I'm still not worried about my volume..as that tends to go up as the temperature goes up.  Unless I get a score in my tourney, it doesn't look like I'm going to hit my goal of ending my stake by April 1st, but I feel May 1st is probable, and I can start the summer grinding 25nl, and maybe be at 50nl by the end of the summer.  So..so far, not bad.
